The Russian Imperial Order of St. Andrew the First-Called
The Order of St. Andrew the First Called was established on November 30, 1698 by Tsar Peter I. The hereditary Grand Master of this Order, as well as all other Russian Imperial Royal Orders, is the Head of the Russian Imperial House.
According to the Order’s statutes and the “Statutes of the Imperial Family”, members of the Russian Imperial House are hereditary holders of this Order. Members of the House who receive it are: Grand Dukes who receive it at Holy Baptism, and Princes of the Blood Imperial who receive it upon reaching their dynastic majority.
All holders of the Order of St. Apostle Andrew the First-Called simultaneously hols the Orders of St. Alexander Nevsky, the White Eagle, St. Anna 1st class, and St. St. Stanislaus 1st class, and receive their insignia, if they have not already been awarded them before.
